Taku Kambayashi, MD, PhD is a Professor of Pathology and Lab Medicine. He is a physician scientist with clinical expertise in transfusion medicine/cellular therapies and basic science expertise in immunology. His laboratory investigates targetable signal transduction pathways to modulate immune cell function in disease states. Recently, his work has uncovered the skin's potential to influence systemic physiology, leading to the development of topical therapeutics for obesity, lipid disorders, nephritis, and skin barrier dysfunction. The overarching goal of his research is to translate fundamental scientific discoveries into clinical applications.
