Charisse Hunter is an influential, data-driven clinical leader deeply committed to health equity, social justice, and amplifying the nursing workforce in care management and community-based settings. Currently the Chief Nursing Officer at Cityblock Health, she has over 20 years of healthcare experience, with the past 12 years primarily focused on clinical design and operations within tech-enabled, value-based care startups.

A former ICU Nurse in Washington, DC, Charisse has centered her career around transforming the care experience for vulnerable populations. She has led dynamic teams across 4 healthcare startups, including Evolent Health, Aledade, Somatus, and Cityblock Health, focused on designing and implementing high-fidelity, scalable, human-centered care models.

She endeavors to apply these population health and value-based care concepts towards a multitude of areas that drive social impact and access to high quality care, both domestically and globally. Charisse serves as an Advisory Board Member with Belay, a company focused on solutions to address the unmet needs of children and families affected by life-threatening food allergies. She is also a volunteer nurse with the International Organization for Women and Development (IOWD), a non-profit charity dedicated to providing underserved women and children in low-income countries with free medical and surgical services.

Local to the Washington, DC area, Charisse and her husband and two boys are usually found at sporting events, exploring the latest pop-up event coming to town, or volunteering in the community.
