James is an energy investment professional with experience executing acquisitions and project financings for infrastructure assets, with a core focus on power, renewables, and the energy transition. He currently leads project investments as a Director for the Catalyst platform at Breakthrough Energy, a company founded by Bill Gates to fund and invest in emerging climate technologies.

Before joining Breakthrough Energy, James was a member of the private equity team at LS Power, where he oversaw investments across a wide array of conventional power generation asset classes. Prior to LS Power, James was with Macquarie Capital as part of the infrastructure & energy principal investing and advisory teams. He began his career with the Project Finance group at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
