Jack Harris received his undergraduate degree from Cornell and his Ph.D. at UCSB. He was a postdoctoral associate at the Harvard/MIT Center for Ultracold Atoms before joining the Yale faculty in 2004. His group studies the relationship between laser light and mechanical motion in various contexts, including macroscopic quantum phenomena, ultrasensitive detectors, and topological dynamics.
