Speaker Bio
I am the Director of the Yale Institute for Global Health, where I work across disciplines to strengthen global partnerships, translate evidence into action, and support research and training that advance equitable, sustainable health outcomes worldwide. In parallel, I continue to serve as Chief of Evidence and Program Innovation at the Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State, helping shape data-driven strategies to address complex global health challenges.
I am a physician-scientist with more than two decades of experience in global health, with a focus on behavioral science, implementation, and policy. I trained in medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and hold a Master of Health Science from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and was on faculty at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School for over 15 years. I am deeply committed to bridging research, policy, and practice to improve health for communities around the world.
