Speaker Bio
Mimi Gonzalez is a creator, creator economy strategist, suicide prevention advocate, and founder building at the intersection of mental health, community well-being, and the future of the creator economy. Her speaking and community organizing journey began in high school after losing multiple people to suicide — experiences that shaped her lifelong commitment to mental health advocacy, storytelling, and building spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected.

A proud alumna of University of Hartford, Mimi earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Gender Studies, along with a master’s degree in Organizational Psychology. After college, she was selected for the Obama Foundation Community Leadership Program and shortly after was invited to share her story as both a keynote speaker and panelist alongside Barack Obama. She also became a key community organizer and coalition partner helping mobilize some of Connecticut’s largest Black Lives Matter protests demonstrations in 2020.

After becoming one of the youngest executives at a Fortune 500 company at 24, Mimi left corporate following the loss of 38 loved ones to build griefsense — a podcast and media platform exploring how people live, create, rebuild, and find community after loss.

She is also the founder of Creator House CT, a creator ecosystem and cultural platform helping bridge creators, brands, businesses, and institutions through experiences, storytelling, and community-driven innovation. While rooted in Connecticut, Creator House was built with a much bigger vision: attracting major brands, creators, and companies from cities like New York and Los Angeles to invest, collaborate, and build meaningful partnerships in Connecticut. Through this work, Mimi is helping challenge outdated perceptions of the state by spotlighting the innovation happening across culture, tourism, media, wellness, arts, entrepreneurship, and technology. Her work explores how creators and influencers are becoming key infrastructure for community well-being, cultural connection, and economic opportunity.

A trusted business partner to brands and organizations across Connecticut and beyond, Mimi has collaborated with businesses and institutions including the City of Hartford, Mohegan Sun, Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism, Yale Ventures, LinkedIn, Teachable, Stanley 1913, and more. She is also a LinkedIn influencer known for conversations around B2B marketing, mental health, community, and the evolving creator economy.

Her work and story have been featured by LinkedIn News, NBC Connecticut, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Fast Company, and more. She also won first place in a statewide social impact venture competition for her work building community-centered mental health and grief initiatives.

Whether she’s attending creator and innovation spaces like the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit, Social Media Week, or speaking at the Yale Innovation Summit, Mimi is passionate about amplifying the innovation happening across Connecticut and beyond — proving that some of the most meaningful cultural and creative infrastructure is being built outside of traditional coastal tech hubs. And yes, she will proudly tell anyone who asks that Connecticut has the best pizza.
