Matt is a founder, CEO, and entrepreneur with a focus on sustainability, project finance, and systems thinking. As founder and former CEO of Cambrian Innovation, Matt grew the company over fourteen years from a laboratory project to an international, full-suite water and energy business. At Cambrian Matt raised over $450 Million in equity, debt, and project finance, before selling it to a private equity firm in 2023. Prior to Cambrian, Matt spun out a number of products and companies from MIT, and worked in the aerospace sector included roles at the MIT Space Systems Laboratory, Canadian Space Agency, NASA, and European Union. He has been a visiting lecturer at MIT, was selected as a Global Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, and was a two-time final-50 candidate for the NASA Astronaut Corp. He holds a PhD and two masters from MIT and a Bachelors from Williams College. Matt lives in Newton, Mass where he coaches his daughter’s third grade travel soccer team and is a regular at the Newton Dad’s Friday Soccer Club.
