Dr. Margaret Cartiera is dedicated to transforming bold ideas into scalable, real-world solutions. She has built interdisciplinary initiatives, designed and led innovation programs, and supported early-stage teams, resulting in the launch of new ventures, strategic partnerships, and translational research endeavors. Dr. Cartiera holds key leadership roles at the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale and the Yale New Haven Health Center for Health Care Innovation, where she focuses on creating pathways to accelerate translation of novel solutions into impactful products, services, and ventures.
Dr. Cartiera brings a cross-sector perspective shaped by experience across industry, investment, and academia. Prior to Yale, Dr. Cartiera established and led the state’s $200 million Bioscience Innovation Fund and held executive roles in biotech, medical technology, and digital health companies, with responsibilities spanning operations, strategy, regulatory affairs, and product development.
Dr. Cartiera holds a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Yale University.
